Flo by Moen is a smart water meter that monitors your home’s water consumption, runs tests on your system for drips or leaks, and safeguards your home against water damage with an automatic shutoff option.
Flo by Moen detects and reports water leaks.

How Flo by Moen Works
The Flo by Moen is fixed on the part of your main water line just beyond the pressure reduction valve and water meter.
The Flo monitors your water temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius, the psi (pounds per square inch) of the water pressure, and your flow rate in gallons per minute.
Once a professional plumber has installed the Flo by Moen device, it will monitor your household water consumption and create a ‘water footprint’ for you.
This learning process takes from 7-21 days (depending on the fixtures you choose to monitor).
Flo gathers data on your daily water use when your consumption is at its heaviest and its lightest, your home’s average water pressure and temperature, and more.
The Flo by Moen will also start to run tests overnight (when your water is not in use) for leaks.
It does this through a brief water supply shut off and by monitoring for water pressure changes, and significantly a sharp decrease which would signify a leak.
